Discovery Day Camp
Discovery Day Camp is the perfect option for K–5 students on school days off, providing a safe and fun place for kids to spend the day. Campers will enjoy crafts, nature experiences, outdoor adventures in every season, sports and games in the gym, and classic camp activities—along with Bible and worship time, free play, and a provided lunch.

Discovery Day Camp dates follow the 2025-2026 Halifax Area School District calendar, but any student is welcome to join the fun.

Daily Schedule
Discovery Day Camp is will be open from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Each day flows a little differently. A typical day may include:

All campers will complete a medication form upon registration. Staff are CPR & AED certified and can provide basic first aid, but a nurse is not guaranteed to be on-site. Campers who need mid-day medication must:
Be able to self-administer under visual supervision, with staff fully hands-off at all times.
Have their medication locked in the Day Camp Director’s office.
Bring medication in the original packaging along with a physician- and parent-signed Med. Authorization form confirming that the child can and will self-administer while at camp.
General OTC medications (like cough drops or ibuprofen) cannot be administered by staff. Parents should plan to give these themselves or pick up their camper if needed.

Discovery Day Camp costs $50 per child, per day. Financial assistance is available for families who need it. While there are no family discounts, families are encouraged to select the tier that works best for their situation. Learn more about financial assistance and tiered pricing at the Parents’ Corner.

Lunch is provided daily by Camp Hebron and included in the program cost, with accommodations for common allergies and dietary restrictions noted on the medical form.
Students are also encouraged to bring snacks or breakfast from home. There will be some time set aside for those snacks too.

Students will have the opportunity to play in any weather, including snow, so please have them dressed and prepared appropriately.
If local schools or businesses are closed, there’s a good chance we may close as well. We will do our best to make a decision by 6:00 PM the night before if the program needs to close.

Yes, the deadline to register is 10 days prior to the program date.

The program is run by our year-round staff along with some of our summer Day Camp staff. Our Guide gap year students will serve as group leaders, and the summer Day Camp Director provides overall leadership and supervision. Campers who’ve attended our summer program will recognize many familiar faces.
All of our staff are trained in First Aid and have our Pennsylvania required clearances.

Doors open promptly at 7:00 AM, and all campers must arrive by 9:00 AM. Campers will be greeted at the door, and staff will sign them in using an iPad. Please ensure the Camper Pick-Up Information form is completed at registration, and anyone picking up a camper must present a photo ID. The program ends at 4:00 PM each day, and families should plan to pick up campers at that time.

Final balance payments are due 7 days prior to your scheduled program.
Cancellations made 1-7 days prior to program will result in loss of deposit only. Refunds will only be offered in the event of a medical emergency. Camp Hebron must receive prompt, written notice from a qualified physician verifying the camper's injury or illness.
For cancellations made 8 or more days prior to the start of your program are eligible for a full refund.
No-shows for any camp forfeit their entire camp fee.
Children that are sent home for inappropriate behavior or homesickness are not eligible for a refund.
