3 Reasons To Come Home

“I went there as a kid!”

“I worked on staff in the 70s.”

“My grandkids were there this summer.”

These are the comments I hear almost everywhere I go. If you’re reading this post, it’s probably because you’ve experienced the joy of Camp Hebron for yourself. The good news is this – you can have that experience again!

Homecoming is a day of family-friendly fun, free BBQ and great music, yes, but it’s more than just that. It’s a chance to experience Camp Hebron anew. Why come? Three reasons stand out:

1)      Relive The Experience. Time on summer staff represents some of the best memories of my life, and I know the same is true for others. For some, your experience was as a camper, or as a guest here on retreat. Visit the Camp Hebron grounds to revive those memories and reflect on meaningful times gone by.

— Pretty much everyone.

2)      Reconnect with Friends. Time passes, people move and relationships can fade. Homecoming is the perfect time to get together with others that have shared the Camp Hebron experience. Gather a few buddies from your era and come meet up at Hebron.

3)      Engage With the Mission. At Camp Hebron, we’re cultivating a sanctuary where people connect with God, nature & each other. What do we mean by that? Come to Homecoming and you’ll get a taste for yourself. Take a wagon ride around camp and rest in the beauty of God’s creation. Sit by the campfire and let your conversation run deep. Play Gold Rush like you’re 18 again.

This year, we’re trying something new. Homecoming replaces our annual fundraising banquet, which was held primarily for members of our Association. You’re invited to Homecoming (for free!) regardless of whether you’re a member, and regardless of whether you choose to engage with Camp Hebron through giving, pledging to volunteer, or registering for a program (though for those so moved, there will be a free-will opportunity to respond).

It’s time to come home. Sign-up for the October 3rd Homecoming at Camp Hebron.
