This Week: Jessica Zook, Counselor
Romans 8:31-32; 38-39
"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Discussion for the Younger Kids:
Sometimes we get discouraged or upset and think that we are not good enough or talented enough to do something. Have you ever faced a problem that you thought was impossible to overcome by yourself? Next time that happens, pray and ask God to help you! Remember that nothing can keep us from God and that He is always with us, always listening, and knows best!
For Further Discussion:
If you think about it, how much would it change our lives if every day we remembered that "if God is for us, who can be against us?" Personally, I think I would have so much more courage to talk to people that don't know God – about His love and mercy, or more confidence and trust that God will provide in a tough or terrifying situation. Nothing can compare to the love and power of God, and as Christians, we have God watching over us all the time and nothing AT ALL can separate us from him. What a promise! I challenge you to remember this verse, so that every time you are uncertain if you are able to do something or are discouraged, you have assurance that the all-powerful all-knowing God is with you, and NOTHING compares to Him!
