Camp Hebron appreciates your support. There are several ways to contribute.

General Fund

This fund supports the ongoing operation and ministry of the camp. Our mission is to help people connect to God, nature and each other. Camp is often the place of significant spiritual growth and renewal. One summer camper wrote, "They better come or they’ll miss out on the change of a lifetime." Donations help to keep rates and camper fees affordable. $130,000 of gift income is needed each year.

Scholarship Fund

Camp Hebron seeks to make a week of camp available to all children and families regardless of their economic status. Based on need, camp awards funds to campers who are unable to afford our fees. A typical scholarship is 1/3 of the cost of the program. These are available to families and individuals for camp programs. In 2011 over $30,000 was received and distributed to scholarship campers. The source of these funds is direct donations from private individuals and foundations as well as our annual benefit golf tournament which is held on the second Wednesday in May at PAR LINE in Elizabethtown, PA.

Capital Fund

The Capital Fund is used to enhance and expand the facilities and equipment of the camp. Capital projects are dependent on donations and gift pledges. Current projects include:

Sylvan View Renovation: Carpet: Goal: $19,000 Received to date: $6,983 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $12,017 New carpet is needed for comfort and beauty in the Sylvan meeting rooms and gathering spaces and hallways downstairs. Dinnerware: Goal: $5,000 Received to date: $4,168 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $832 Our old dinnerware needs additional pieces, but replacement sets are no longer available. 200 place settings are needed. $25 buys one place setting. Beds: Goal: $15,400 Received to date: $11,734 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $3,666 A good mattress is essential for good sleep. Ours are worn, 11 rooms currently need to be refurbished with a queen bed and two twin beds. $1,400 per room for beds, frames,, and bedding. Shower Stalls: Goal: $9,780 Received to date: $0 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $9,780 New carpet is needed for comfort and beauty in the Sylvan meeting rooms and gathering spaces and hallways downstairs. A-Frame Chapel Renovation: Goal: $105,000 Received to date: $28,760 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $76,240 The A-Frame Chapel at Camp Hebron has long been a symbol of the presence of God on this Holy ground. It was with much sadness that we locked the doors in 2001 due to structural problems that could present a danger to our guests. We were reluctant to take it down because it is so meaningful to so many. We are pleased to announce that the essence of the Chapel will be revived and re-opened in the near future. We are in the process of raising funds to re-build the A-Frame as a Chapel Pavilion with an open air feel but the capability to close the sides in inclement weather. This will provide a 3-season, multi-purpose meeting space for recreation, dining and worship. It will include a family rest room that will also make it easier to care for those who use the soccer field. The facade is to be preserved as we all remember it. Our plan will be to be good stewards and use as much of the original building material as we can. The total cost will be around $105,000 and we will begin construction when we have secured eighty percent of the needed funds. At the Association Dinner, we were challenged to raise the funds and have the new building ready to be dedicated on July 27, 2012-the 55th anniversary of Camp Hebron's incorporation as a non-profit ministry. Around Camp: Tennis Courts: Goal: $13,500 Received to date: $2,000 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $11,500 Tennis is a favorite activity at camp. A top coat this year will repair the court's surface while a delay in resurfacing will increase the cost as the surface continues to deteriorate. Golf Carts: Goal: $4,000 Received to date: $0 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $4,000 Two additional golf carts are needed for our summer program ministry. Horses: Goal: $3,500 Received to date: $0 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $3,500 Horses have been an integral part of Camp's ministry from the beginning. Our herd is aging and younger replacements are needed for camp's very active year round horse program. $3,500 per horse. Pool Lift: Goal: $10,000 Received to date: $0 Project Status: Awaiting Funding Still needed: $10,000 A pool lift is needed to provide enjoyment of the pool for all of our guests regardless of their physical ability. A Federal mandate requires this to be in place by March 15, 2012.   Back to Top

Pet Projects

Camp Hebron will discuss offers to fund specific projects. Presently there is an individual who funds the annual upgrade of the John Deere tractor. There are others who have "adopted" a horse and contributed funds specifically to assist with their upkeep. There is also an individual who purchases an annual subscription to "Birds and Blooms" magazine for the camp. These are also very helpful. Call 800-864-7747 to discuss your ideas with us.

In-kind Donations

Camp has also benefited from the donation of tangible items that are used but still have a good useful life. These have included vehicles, furniture, appliances and game equipment. Items should be offered and accepted prior to bringing them to camp. Please call 800-864-7747 to discuss this with us.

Time & Talent

Camp Hebron has a reputation for excellent guest service. This relies heavily on help from volunteers in a variety of areas from food service to office to housekeeping to maintenance and program. Please consider how you might use your time and talent to contribute to Camp Hebron's ministry. There is more information at the volunteers section of this website.

Estate Planning and Gifts

God has called us to be excellent stewards of the provision He has given. There are excellent ways to take care of loved ones and support worthy organizations like Camp Hebron. Please call our office (800-864-7747) if you would like help in exploring these options and setting up a deferred gift or estate. We have access to counselors through Mennonite Foundation who will help you insure that your assets will go where you want them. This is an important part of stewardship and we would love to be of help to you.
